Mutant Youth start their 2016 campaign in a big way with “Girls Want” from Maarius.
The Bordeaux based producer and DJ brings a fresh alternative to the ever familiar sound of the electronic music World right now.
The use of drum breaks and vocal cuts pay tribute to his influences of Hip Hop, and a love for UK genres including Jungle & 2 Step is clear throughout with skippy percussion, melodic synth work and low end bass. Both “Girls Want” and “Blow Motion” paint a clear picture of where Maarius came from and where he is heading.
Fellow Frenchman “Night Drugs” (Radio Los Santos) is on hand with an industrial fuelled 808 hybrid. Think Bok Bok vs Sinjin Hawke. Roska Kicks and Snares regular “Tickles” offers something for the clubs with big beats, big bass and trademark mid-range growls while Josh Gregg takes us into a dark sweaty room with his hypnotic tech house re-rub.
